Costa Rican Food
Food in Costa Rica is generally a good price if you know how to shop around. If you are vacationing chances are you will spend a bit more eating out rather than buying at the market. Either way the typical dish you will find is any dish made with black beans and white rice. Locals will eat this dish for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast will usually consist of orange juice scrambled eggs, black beach, white rice and Pico de Gallo. While lunch and dinner will have a fresh fish, chicken or steak also served with rice and beans.

Fried plantains are almost always served with lunch and dinner. Fish will usually consist of fresh Dorado, Red Snapper and Sea Bass. There is also a plethora of fresh fruit all over Costa Rica. Passion fruits, Mangos and Papaya are offered all over Costa Rica in drink form or freshly sliced. Costa Rican coffee is also very common to enjoy at all times of the day. At lunch it is very common to find all business professionals in San Jose at a Café having espresso or some form of coffee. Whether you living in or moving to Costa Rica you will save more money by going to local produce markets set up on Saturdays and Sundays. You can really do all weeks shopping in one day. As a vacationer who likes to eat out, you will find no shortage of great restaurants as well.
