Playa Grande Costa Rica, is located in the province of Guanacaste and is best known for its surf spot. Although not a huge and developed area this town does contain some great features. Great people and a nice surfspot with a hotel on it can be found here. Also there is about 6 or 7 nice restaurants in this town and its only a drive away from Playa Conchal, Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo.
Playa Grande’s main attractions are Eco-tourism, Leatherback turtles, surfing, and the beach hotel. Also due to this area being protected there is only one hotel called Hotel Las Tortugas and it is on the beach. This is a nice hotel to catch a meal or drink at while watching the surf. What makes Playa Grande special is it is the perfect location for visitors to begin their tour of Las Baulas National Park. Las Baulos National Park is a leatherback turtle nesting ground, among many other things. High levels of eco-tourism are a seasonal occurrence during the months of October through March, when the turtles are nesting. Playa Grande is a great location for travelers and retirees to enjoy many of Costa Rica’s beauties.
