Heredia is a small but beautiful and is only a 15 minute drive from San Jose. Heredia is located at the base of the Brava Volcano. It is a fast growing area due to its location near San Jose. Heredia is a great region to visit for families. With huge coffee plantations and beautiful country side this city of flowers is a great place to relax.
There is an impressive central park worth seeing. Also a historical basilica of the Inmaculada Concepcion is located at the middle of the city right near a favorite gathering place for locals. The church built in 1796 has bells that were imported from Peru. The church stands at Heredia’s Central Park which even has a stage that sometimes hosts concerts and performances.
