The Rio Pacuare is one of the top destinations in Costa Rica for white water rafting or kayaking. Day trips can be made out of San Jose and your arive back in the city in time for dinner. The Rio Pacuare is divided in to different sections, Upper, the Upper Upper and The Lower. The Upper Upper is about 15 miles long and is known for its class II and III rapids. However the most common section rafted is the Lower section. The Lower section is class III and IV and flows for about 22 miles.
Wildlife is best viewed while going though the slower parts of the rapids. Monkeys, sloths, Anteaters and even the elusive Black Panther has even been seen, although rare. Beautiful flora are everywhere and even some small water falls you can go by. Its truly a great experience and any day trip can be added to your package!
